Q: To get started, can you describe to me a bit about your position at Revivn?
A: I'm what they call a Logistics Specialist. I work with operations, but specifically within the logistics team. Our main job is to piece together everything from start to finish. When a partner of ours has a pickup they want to schedule, that's where we take over. We gather all the proper information, and we coordinate with our different teams and partners around the globe. The goal is ensuring that the whole process runs smoothly. Moving forward, once the pickup is completed, we make sure it’s processed correctly and then finally, our logistics team coordinates all of the reporting. We're making sure that all of those channels are working properly.
Q: Can you tell me about how you originally heard of Revivn?
A: Due to the pandemic I lost my job working as an assistant project manager for an elevator company, a job I had really enjoyed doing. I grew up with a lot of technical skills and I went to school for engineering, so I did want to do something that was in the tech space. I obtained a certification in sustainability and energy management, and I am a people person, so I wanted to see if I could combine everything that I love together. I was looking for opportunities that were in the sustainable tech world. I was looking everywhere and not finding anything. I made an account on AngelList and that's where Revivn found me (within a day of my profile being live). I thought this is what I was supposed to be looking for the whole time. I didn't even know I was a proper fit until Revivn found me.
Q: What is the best part about working at Revivn?
A: There are so many good things to talk about, but definitely the people that work here. Going from a corporate space and feeling that you're just another number, Revivn is much more personable. We aren’t a small group, we are expanding so much right now, but it still feels so interconnected. In the office we're in, you know everybody by name - that's what I love about this company. Since we are so closely knit, sometimes you get thrown into projects you weren’t initially assigned to so you always feel involved. That was a main concern of mine joining Revivn. At the last job that I had, I felt like I didn't have a voice or the opportunity to make any lasting impact. I wanted to see if I could continue to improve myself, and since Revivn is a growing company I feel like a lot of people here are focused on improvement as well. They take an interest in what you have to say and will take the time to see your point of view. It was so nice to finally voice my opinion, at the very least they will listen to your thoughts, but most of the time they're actually implemented.
Q: How would you describe the company culture at Revivn?
A: Our culture is very chill and relaxed. Every day we have a different question on a board in the front of the office. For example, the last question was, “What's your favorite type of dipping sauce?” Surprisingly, these questions open a lot of debates around the office. It’s those small things that bring our community closer together. We did a Hot Ones challenge as a group, and that was really fun. All the extra effort makes it feel like you can talk to anyone and everyone and not just about work. Everything is on the table. These are people that you can get to know and be friends with.
Q: What would you say is your proudest accomplishment at Revivn?
A: For context, we work in ClickUp. That's our main space for project management and cross-management between the different departments of our business. There was a point when we realized that we weren't using the tool to its potential. We had all of our different programs outside of ClickUp that weren't communicating together so you would end up copying and pasting different data points across all of our programs. My main goal was to have a streamlined process for everyone to communicate together. We ended up revamping our entire platform and made a new collaborative space. That took a lot of work because along with the setup comes the data transferring as well. We got it set up, and it's still improving today, but that was my first big project. Now I'm known as the ClickUp czar or the ClickUp resource and that's pretty cool. I enjoy holding that title and making sure that I can help everybody as much as I can. When I made those improvements I was able to help out not just my department, but the whole business. That was really rewarding.
Q: What is something people might not know about you?
A: When I was younger, I was really into musical theater. I sing, I did choir, and I even went to a summer program for a couple of years doing musical theater. I was Audrey in my high school production of Little Shop of Horrors. I don't know if I've ever brought that up at work. I've told people I like to sing, but that's it. So, I’m waiting for a karaoke day at Revivn!
Q: If you could describe your Revivn experience in one word, what would it be and why?
A: Serendipitous! Most, if not all my experiences at Revivn have been surprising and highly rewarding. Working here has changed my whole perspective about my job and my career. I'm just really in a happy mood from being here.
Q: Why should someone consider working at Revivn?
A: I mean, there are so many reasons, but honestly it's just a great group of people. The values of the company, in general, are great and Revivn is trying to make a difference in the world. This is a budding industry that is going to keep expanding in the future. We are going to have to expand our reusability in the future in all aspects of life, but especially in the tech industry. And I feel that the sustainable profitability of our type of business is not emphasized enough. It is an untapped market in terms of improving the tech industry. We are not only focused on growth but on making sure that we're as sustainable as possible. I'm just happy to be a part of it.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: As of right now, my main thing is hanging out with friends. My go-to person is my sister - we lived in an apartment together during the pandemic so we are definitely close. Honestly, hanging out, watching movies, just being goofy and fun with my friends, that's what I live for… and food of course. I like to cook. I recently made this beet and ricotta pasta sauce, and it was so good. I didn't realize how healthy beets were, so it's going to be my new vodka sauce.
Q: Ok my last question, because you touched on karaoke, what is your go-to karaoke song?
A: I would say that my go-to song has to be a crowd pleaser. I'm from Jersey so it’s going to be Don't Stop Believing or anything by Aerosmith.
